About Us

A longstanding tradition of excellence.

Wooster Orthopaedics - OhioWooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center has been the trusted choice for referring physicians and their patients since 1977. That was the year Dr. Owen W. Logee opened one of the area’s first orthopaedic surgery practices. He was dedicated to providing high-quality orthopaedic care along with a genuine neighborly concern for his patients’ well-being. Over the years, Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center has added orthopaedic specialists and expanded to three locations.

Our multidisciplinary team now includes orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, physical therapy assistants and physician assistants. Everyone at Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center continues to follow the same practice philosophy that was set forth by Dr. Logee over three decades ago — that of putting the patient first by providing honest, focused and compassionate care.

The credentials & training you want.

When you’re being cared for by a highly trained and experienced medical professional, you can rest assured that you’re in the best of hands. The orthopaedic surgeons at Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center have the medical credentials that inspire confidence. Physical therapy for complete care.

Because orthopaedic surgery and postsurgical rehabilitation each have their own unique strengths in the healing process, there is no approach more efficient than the combination of both. That’s why we have an on-staff group of physical therapists led by Paul M. McGhee, a board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialist (OCS), who work closely with our orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine specialist. This “team” approach helps produce an effective and customized program to help you recover and prevent re-injury as well as gain your optimal level of performance. Some of our treatment options include:

  • Manual therapy
  • Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy of the Spine (McKenzie Method)
  • Nonsurgical spinal decompression
  • Iontophoresis to reduce the symptoms of tendonitis & bursitis
  • Electrical stimulation & ultrasound
  • Strength training equipment & cardiovascular equipment

State-of-the-art surgery center.

In July 2008, we opened our new office in Wooster that is located adjacent to the 13,600-square-foot Wooster Ambulatory Surgery Center (WASC). This fully licensed and accredited outpatient center is equipped with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, two digital X-ray suites and a bone densitometry unit, so you won’t need to drive to a medical imaging center for your exam. In addition, WASC affords you greater privacy and easy parking, all in an inviting one-on-one setting.

Our surgeons perform many procedures at WASC; they also have hospital privileges at Wooster Community Hospital, Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg and Dunlap Community Hospital in Orrville. This means you’ll never have to travel far for your orthopaedic care.
