Physical Therapy for Complete Care
Because orthopaedic surgery and post-surgical rehabilitation each have their own unique strengths in the healing process, there is no approach more efficient than the combination of both.
That’s why we have an on-staff group of physical therapists led by Paul M. McGhee, a board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialist (OCS), who works closely with our orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine specialist.
Our team-oriented approach to physical therapy produces an effective and customized program to help you recover and prevent re-injury while achieving your optimal level of performance.
Physical therapy may include:
- Manual therapy
- Mechanical diagnosis and therapy of the spine (McKenzie Method)
- Nonsurgical spinal decompression
- Iontophoresis to reduce the symptoms of tendonitis and bursitis
- Electrical stimulation and ultrasound therapy
- Strength training equipment and cardiovascular equipment
What to Expect
With an on-site physical therapy team at Wooster Ortho, patients have immediate access to the latest rehabilitation equipment for orthopaedic injuries and post-surgical rehab.
During every therapy appointment, a licensed physical therapist will guide you and help you work through the exercises. The exercises will gradually get more challenging as you develop more strength and endurance with every visit.
Ultimately, the goal is for you to do some exercises at home and reduce the number of in-office visits. This saves you time and money. When the physical therapist feels you are completely rehabilitated, you will meet with your doctor to get full clearance to return to work or play.
Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center's physical therapy team has the advanced skills and training for orthopaedic conditions. Call today for a physical therapy appointment in Wooster.
